Keeping it Simple: Hallway Edition

The hallway. The first thing you see in the morning when you leave your bedroom and the last thing you see before you go to sleep. Hallways can be tricky to make aesthetically pleasing because of their awkward size and seemingly limited options. This was my exact dilemma about two years ago when my husband and I bought our second home. We had just about finished renovating the upstairs part of the house and it was on to my favorite thing of all time- decorating. I had so many ideas for the kitchen, living room, dining room and bedrooms. But the hallway- she was giving me a run for my money.

After a few hundred pinterest searches, here is what I found:

-Runners. Adding a runner to your hallway space create a cozy, welcoming vibe. If you have dark floors like me, choose a rug with lighter, brighter tones to create contrast. For lighter floors, dark runners or pops of color will compliment the space.

-Frames or wall art. Choose a frame or piece of art based on the size of your wall space. For larger wall space, choose something such as a large framed picture or canvas. For smaller spaces, choose small frames or a group of frames that compliment each other and draws attention to the eye.

-Greenery. A pop of greenery is arguably one of my most favorite decor tips. It adds such a homey feel and immediately brightens up the space.

-Lighting. Open the blinds and let the natural light in. The illumination will brighten the space, instantly giving a light, open and airy feel.

If you've made it this far, thank you. This is my first ever "decor tip" post and I hope you found it helpful. All in all, I like to keep it simple, affordable and realistic. Not everyone's home can nor should look like a Pinterest board. My goal is to create an authentic space for fellow decor lovers to find and share their favorite tips and tricks, while keeping it ✨real.✨
